Police: Thief caught breaking into cars with a screwdriver in Bayonne

A Bayonne thief was caught breaking into cars parked in parking lot on Avenue E with a screwdriver and stealing the contents inside them, such as a GPS, police said. Bayonne police

Christopher Wohltman, 29, of Bayonne, was charged with four counts of burglary, theft, possession of burglar tools and criminal attempt motor vehicle theft on Monday, according to Police Lt. Janine Foy.

On Monday at 1:57 p.m., Wohltman was arrested after getting caught breaking into four different vehicles in a parking lot located at 154 Avenue E, officials said.

Items stolen from inside the cars included a GPS, flashlight, charger wires, lottery tickets and gloves, and also removed the ignitions, authorities said.
