Dustin Branch, 29, of Lancaster, P.A., the driver of the vehicle, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) under 50 grams and failure to wear a seat belt, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Meanwhile, Bebetho Jeanty, 24, of Lancaster, P.A., the front seat passenger, was hit with the same charges, officials said.

Additionally, Alexander Garcia, 22, of Lancaster, P.A., was accused of toxic chemical possession for purpose of intoxication and being a fugitive from justice.

Finally, Angelo Ortega, 27, of Lancaster, P.A., was charged with being a fugitive from justice, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of CDS, police said.

At around 12:30 p.m. yesterday, Port Authority police at the Holland Tunnel entrance in Jersey City saw a grey Nissan Altima with Pennsylvania plates being driven with the windows down and the driver and front seat passenger neglecting to wear seat belts, authorities said.

As a result, police pulled the Nissan over and as the officer approached the car, he could smell the odor of marijuana. Inside the car, a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol was recovered, police said.

The pistol, alleged marijuana, four blue pills and electronic vape cigarettes with alleged THC residue were all inside the vehicle. The occupants were then all taken into custody and the car was impounded, officials said.

According to authorities, a records check revealed that two of the passengers were fugitives from justice and had outstanding arrest warrants from Lancaster County, PA. The two wanted suspects were taken to Hudson County jail pending extradition.
