On January 26th at approximately 3:02 a.m., the Secaucus Police responded on a call of an armed robbery at the Aloft Hotel, 460 Harmon Meadow Boulevard.

The victims met with Nyshiem O. Inmon in their hotel room, and a short time later, Lyemel Summerville and another man entered the hotel room while brandishing handguns. Three of the victims were held against their will in the bathroom of the hotel room.

When one of the victims refused to enter the bathroom, he was stabbed in his upper leg by Inmon.

After an exhaustive search by the Secaucus Police K-9 Unit and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, Inmon and his accomplices fled the area with approximately $20,000.00 of the victims’ cash in a getaway vehicle that was waiting in the parking lot, operated by Russell Francis.

Initial responding police officers located one of the victims in the lobby of the hotel bleeding heavily from an arterial bleed on his leg.

Police Officer Dwight Wise immediately applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg to control the bleeding. The victim was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where he treated and released.

On February 4th, Russell Francis, 53 of Brooklyn, NY was arrested at the Secaucus Police Department. He was charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery and was lodged in the Hudson County Jail.

Then, on February 8th, Lyemel Summervile, 24, of Brooklyn, NY was arrested in the Bronx by the NYPD Brooklyn North Violent Felony Squad.

He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, armed robbery, criminal restraint, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

He was temporarily lodged on Rikers Island, NY while awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

“I am proud of the investigative work put forth by my detectives and am thankful for the arrests made by the Anti-Crime Unit, under the supervision of Det. Sgt. Matthew Ford,” Miller said in a statement.

“This was a heinous, targeted attack, and as I have stated previously, my detectives will not rest until they find justice for the victims of any crime in Secaucus. I want to thank the members of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit for their assistance. I also want to thank the NYPD Brooklyn North Violent Felony Squad, New York Probation and Parole who assisted in this investigation and arrests.”

An arrest warrant has been issued for Inmon, 24, who is being sought on the charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

According to Miller, Inmon has ties to Jersey City, New York City and Maryland and the Secaucus Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating him.
