Fitim Ibrahimi, 24 of Newark, is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, interfere with public transportation and disorderly conduct, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

At about 5 a.m. on Saturday, Port Authority police on duty at the Hudson Path station in Hoboken saw a man blocking the train doors and holding them open, which caused a delay in the trains operation, authorities said.

The officers instructed the man to move several times before Ibrahimi appeared intoxicated and vomited, officials said.

As two of the officers began escorting the man off the train, the man protested, became agitated and caused a disturbance. Once on the platform, he began yelling and fighting the officers, striking one officer in the face, police said.

Police were met with further resistance by the man when they tried to arrest him and take him into custody. Eventually, he was handcuffed and processed for arrest, admitting he had “drank too much,” authorities said.

The injured officer was treated at the scene and the suspect was not injured, officials said.
