A Jersey City man was recently arrested for attempting to shoplift over $300 worth of items from the Bayonne Walmart, including lobster, steak and shrimp, police said.

John D. Mays, 54, of Jersey City, was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine) and possession of paraphernalia, according to Police Capt. Janine Foy.
Mays was arrested around 5:12 p.m. on Sunday, September 4 for attempting to steal items valued at $315.96 including lobster, steak and shrimp, officials said.
When he was detained by authorities, he was also found to be in possession of cocaine and unspecified drug paraphernalia, police said.
