A man was arrested for stealing approximately $3,000 worth of equipment from trucks in Secaucus back in October, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

On October 29th, 2024, Secaucus Police responded to fenced in parking lot on Henry Street on a report of burglaries to several trucks, Miller said in a statement.
This came after it was discovered that during the overnight, an individual burglarized six trucks and stole their EZ Pass transponders and portable radios valued at approximately $3,000.
Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation and identified Luis Najera Mendoza as the suspect. Luis Najera Mendoza, 23, of Bellville was arrested on Friday.
During a consensual search of his residence and vehicle, detectives recovered some of the stolen property.
“I am proud of the investigative work of my detectives. Their continuous hard work is symbolic to their dedication to the residents and businesses owners in Secaucus,” Miller added.
“What these detectives do on a daily basis truly makes a difference to the quality of life in this Town.”
Najera Mendoza is charged with two counts of burglary and theft of moveable property. He was released and has a pending court appearance, authoritie said.
