A Jersey City woman was arrested at the Bayonne Medical Center late last night after she assaulted a nurse on duty while she was seeking medical treatment, police said.
Amanda Rivers, 27, of Jersey City, was charged with aggravated assault, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.
Officers responded to the Bayonne Medical Center Emergency Department yesterday on a report of an assault on a staff member.
According to the 34-year-old victim, who works at the hospital as a nurse, while speaking with Rivers – who had entered the medical center for treatment – she became irate and violent and pushed the victim, causing her to strike her head on the wall.
As a result, Rivers was taken into custody at approximately 11:48 p.m. from the Bayonne Medical Center Emergency Department, authorities said.
