Soloman Crawford, 45, of Jersey City, was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief yesterday, according to Police Det. Lt. Edgardo Cruz.

On July 11th, uniform officers responded to the 500 block of Washington Street on a report of a burglary that occurred at one of the local businesses, authorities said.

It was reported that someone had entered the establishment and stole several laptops along with several bottles of wine with a value in excess of $4,000. There was also heavy damage to the property in excess of $6,000, officials said.

Dets. Bret Globke and  Paul Quinn were assigned to investigate the case, canvassing the area, speaking with several people and searched for evidence and possible leads, police said.

After several days, they were able to gather enough information and evidence to focus their attention on the defendant. Crawford was arrested yesterday at 8 p.m. without incident, authorities said.
