Police: Jersey City man busted with 43 envelopes of heroin labeled ‘Best Buy’

A Jersey City man was busted with 43 wax envelopes of heroin labeled “Best Buy” near the Journal Square fountain last night, police said.

Dawud Daniels, 39, of Jersey City, was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance (heroin) with intent to distribute, intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public park, possession of CDS and bail jumping, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Yesterday at about 9:15 p.m. at the Journal Square fountain area, Port Authority police saw a man holding a glassine envelope of suspected heroin in his hand, officials said.

Authorities recovered 43 wax envelopes of heroin that were marked “Best Buy” from the suspect and a glass vial of suspected crack cocaine. Daniels was then placed under arrest.

Additionally, a records check showed an outstanding warrant from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office before he was transported to Hudson County jail, police said.
