Yesterday, members of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division received a request for assistance regarding an issue involving a juvenile, according to Police Lt. Aleksandar Ramadanovic.

During their on-scene investigation, the juvenile’s mother explained that she went through her ex-boyfriend’s cell-phone and found a video of her juvenile daughter naked exiting the shower.

Officers were able to confirm that the video was taken without the juvenile’s knowledge and that she was secretly recorded through a crack/hole in the bathroom door.

At that time, officers of the Guttenberg Police Department’s Patrol Division arrested a 46-year-old man from Guttenberg. At this time, the defendant’s name is being withheld in order to protect the juvenile victim and her family.

The defendant was processed at the Guttenberg PD and charged with endangering the welfare of a child/photographing or filming a child, endangering the welfare of a child/sexual conduct by caretaker, and knowingly possessing/viewing child pornography.

Upon the completion of his arrest processing, the defendant was issued his complaint warrant and then lodged in the Hudson County Correctional Center.

“One of the main goals of the Guttenberg Police Department is to protect the safety and wellbeing of juveniles, who are unfortunately victimized by individuals such as this defendant too often,” Deputy Chief Frank Pelaez said in a statement.

“To our residents and our community, rest assured, you can always rely on my officers to move mountains to ensure victims of such crimes receive the justice they deserve.”

If anyone has any information pertaining to this incident, or any incident involving the abuse of juveniles, they are encouraged to contact the Guttenberg PD at 201-868-3300 or email Lt. Steven Diaz at sdiaz@guttenbergpolice.org or Det. Sgt. Marcin Rysiec at mrysiec@guttenbergpolice.org.
