Joshua Pinsker, 31, of Fair Lawn, was charged with DWI, reckless driving, and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer, according to Det. Lt. Jonathan Mecka.

Shortly after about 8:50 p.m. on Sunday, Officers Damien Bates and Marco Grossman responded to the area of Observer Highway and Washington Street on a report of a man sleeping behind the wheel while still in a traffic lane.

When the officers arrived, they met with Sgt. Dennis Figueroa, Jr. and Officer James Barbro who were already speaking with the driver, later identified as Pinsker.

During the on-scene investigation, he was administered a field sobriety test and ultimately, he was placed under arrest for DWI. Pinsker was transported to Headquarters where he refused to provide breath samples.

The aforementioned charges were placed on a summons before he was released to a responsible party, authorities said.
