Police: Bayonne man charged with DWI in Hoboken after crashing into parked vehicle

A Bayonne man was charged with driving while intoxicated in Hoboken after crashing his station wagon into a parked car on Friday night, police said.

Jan Sabbagh, 32, of Bayonne, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, and driving without a license, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera.

On Friday, at approximately 11:57 p.m., Sgt. Robert Roman and Officer Domenick Allegretta responded to the area of 126 Garden St. on a report of an overturned vehicle.

Officers found a white Toyota wagon on its side and the driver standing by the vehicle. The driver was identified as Sabbagh. After speaking with Sabbagh, it was determined to conduct a standardized field sobriety test.

Sabbagh was released to a responsible party and the overturned vehicle was involved in a crash with a parked vehicle and there was no one else in any of the vehicles.
