Police: 2 men arrested for stealing over $200k in laptops & perfume as part of Secaucus inside job

Two men were arrested for stealing over $200,000 in laptops and perfume as part of a Secaucus inside job, Police Chief Dennis Miller said.

Trent Janulis, 47, of Secaucus, and Michael Schmidt, 48, of Jersey City, were both charged with four counts of burglary and theft, as well as three counts of theft, Miller said in a statement.

Additionally, Janulis was also charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary, defiant trespassing, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Suboxone), and possession of a prescription drug (Viagra).

Schmidt was also charged with possession of a CDS (Suboxone).

2 Day Transportation, located at 901 Castle Road, had been burglarized on December 19th, 24th and 25th, as well as January 10th.

Janulis, an employee at 2 Day Transportation, provided himself and Schmidt access to the facility each time, police said.

They were both arrested on January 12th at around 9:30 p.m. in furtherance of an investigation into the robberies, noted Miller.
