Police: 16-year-old girl arrested for stabbing another juvenile in Hoboken

A 16-year-old girl was arrested in Hoboken this afternoon for allegedly stabbing another juvenile, according to Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante.

At approximately 3:43 p.m., Hoboken police received a call that an underage female was stabbed in the area of 532 Jackson St. by another juvenile, Ferrante said. By coincidence, Hoboken police units were in the vicinity of the incident.

Emergency Service Unit (ESU) Sgt. Luke Zeszotarski pursued the suspect towards 540 Marshall Dr., while ESU Officer Duke McCourt tended to the victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Zeszotarski apprehended the alleged suspect at the aforementioned address. The suspect is a 16-year-old female from Hoboken. She was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters.

The victim, a juvenile from Jersey City, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance, where she is currently being treated.

Patrols that were already in place in that area have been increased this afternoon and will remain that way until a time to be determined, the chief also said.
