“Our businesses in North Bergen and especially our restaurants have been greatly affected by COVID-19 and it is up to us to help them in any way possible,” state Senator (D-32)/ Mayor Nick Sacco said in a statement.

“This program will be great for residents and businesses and will allow everyone to support our restaurants and local establishments while maintaining proper social distancing. I encourage all residents of North Bergen and neighboring towns to take advantage of our world class dining options.”

All patrons should remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing when possible. The schedule of street closings is as follows:

  • August 7-9, Broadway between 72nd and 78th Streets
  • August 14-16, Bergenline Avenue between 78th and 82nd Streets
  • August 21-23, Bergenline Avenue between 76th and 78th Streets
  • August 28-30, Bergenline Avenue between 70th and 76th Streets

Similar programs have been enacted in cities such as Jersey City in Hoboken as indoor dining has remained on hold since the end of March.
