“Under Mayor Sacco’s guidance, the North Bergen School District has witnessed remarkable enhancements in academic performance, facilities, and resources, and he has spearheaded initiatives at both local and state levels to help students from diverse backgrounds flourish,” NBEA representative and NBCASA member Shareen Shibl said in a statement.

“Mayor Sacco’s proven track record of supporting and improving the educational environment in our community is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the future achievements of our children and we are proud to encourage all NBEA members to vote Column B on May 9!”

The NBEA and the NBCASA are unions that represent the teachers, administrators, custodians, security guards and attendance officers of township’s schools.

Sacco, seeking his 11th term in municipal office next month, is running alongside Commissioner Allen Pascual and Hugo Cabrera, as well as Hudson County Democratic Organization Chair Anthony Vainieri and Board of Education Trustee Claudia Rodriguez.

Vainieri, also the Hudson County Board of Commissioners chair, and Rodriguez are running to succeed Julio Marenco – who is running for a state Assembly seat in the 33rd Legislative District with the HCDO’s backing – and Frank Gargiulo, whose retiring.

“As someone who spent my career as an educator, I am extremely honored to have received the endorsements of both the NBEA and the NBCASA,” noted Sacco, also a retired assistant superintendent of schools.

“My team and I will work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our schools and provide the necessary support to the students, parents, and teachers of our community.”
