North Bergen Police Department promotes 16 officers at historic ceremony

The North Bergen Police Department promoted 16 officers, the largest ceremony in the history of the force, at a public ceremony at the township’s recreation center.

At the ceremony, Arthur Del was promoted to captain, Bronson Jusino, Cynthia Montero, Jorge Sestan Raposo, Michael Vitali, Otoniel Cruz and David Dowd earned the distinction of lieutenant, while Nicholas Galliano, Alexander Vasquez, Michele Bartoli, Alex Barrios, Edward Moyano, Brian Caramucci, Victor Quiero, Brian O’Neill and Christian Argudo are now recognized as sergeants.

Public Safety Commissioner Allen Pascual offered praise to the newly promoted officers and their families.

State Senator (D-32)/North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco added that his administration has prioritized making the streets safe by routinely hiring and promoting qualified officers.

After the promotions concluded, Police Chief Robert Dowd exclaimed that all 16 now-ranking officers will remembers this day for the rest of their careers.
