North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco and the board of commissioners formally sworn in

North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco and the board of commissioners were formally sworn in at township hall on Tuesday, where dozens came out to support the five newly elected officials.

Hudson County Superior Court Judge Mitzy Galis-Melendez administered the oaths of office and the oaths of allegiance for all five elected officials.

Sacco’s son, Nick Sacco, Jr., and his grandson Nathan, helped hold the Bible as he was sworn in.

Afterwards, the members of the board said a few words to thank their constituents.

In the first brief meeting of the newly elected commissioners, Sacco was assigned to the Department of Public Affairs, Alan Pascual was assigned to the Department of Public Safety, Julio Marenco was put in charge of the Department of Revenue and Finance, while Hugo Cabrera remains with the Department of Parks and Public Property, and Frank Gargiulo remains with the Department of Public Works.

Dignitaries on hand included Freeholder Chairman E. Junior Maldonado, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32), Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez (D-32), West New York Mayor Felix Roque and West New York Commissioner Cosmo Cirillo – to name a few.
