“This event represents what North Bergen is all about, community and caring for one another. Every year our volunteers come together to help thousands of families head into the holiday season with a warm meal,” Mayor Nick Sacco said in a statement.

“I want to thank NB C.A.R.E.S. Director Aimee Focaraccio and everyone who made this possible for their incredible work.”

Sacco was joined at the event by Commissioners Hugo Cabrera, Allen Pascual, Claudia Rodriguez, and Anthony Vainieri Jr., the NB C.A.R.E.S. team, township employees and student volunteers.

They helped distribute food, assist residents, and keep the process running smoothly. In addition to last week’s distribution, NB C.A.R.E.S. is delivering prepared holiday meals today to homebound seniors throughout North Bergen.

“Families continue to face rising costs and we want to make sure no one feels alone as the holidays approach,” added Director Aimee Focaraccio.

“The support from the Township, the Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation, the Housing Authority and our volunteers allows us to meet the needs of every family who comes to us. It is inspiring to see our community step up year after year.”
