The NHCAC has received 1,000 doses of the JYNNEOS vaccine and are currently reserved for gay and transgender men, men and women who engage in risky sexual behavior, or men and women who have come in close contact with someone who has monkeypox, the organization said.

The vaccine is administered in two doses that are four weeks apart and appointments are available at the North Bergen Vaccine and Resource Center, 9243 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. tomorrow.

While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins will still be accepted.

Hudson County Community College will also distribute vaccines from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Thursday at both locations: 4800 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in West New York and 70 Sip Ave. in Jersey City.

Furthermore, vaccines will be available at the East Newark Recreation Center, 44 Central Ave., Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the Kearny Health Department, 645 Kearny Ave., offering the same on Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The vaccines are free of charge and all vaccine recipients will have their privacy protected, though photo ID is still required.

According to the New Jersey Department of Health, there are 243 probable cases of Monkeypox statewide, with 73 positive cases in Hudson County.
