The project is expected to be completed in spring 2017.

After a very brief 10 minute or so press conference, Fulop spoke to Hudson County View during a small media scrum after the event.

“Look, Jersey City continues to lead the state of New Jersey in job creation and we couldn’t be more excited … this is just another positive step.”

“Yesterday we had another groundbreaking in Ward F, market rate housing, a beautiful building there, and this is a testament to all the great things happening in Jersey City.”

Fulop also touched on the city’s new plan to limit chain stores in downtown Jersey City, specifically looking to make only 30% of commercial space rentable to businesses that have 10 other properties within 300 miles of Jersey City.

The cost of the Liberty Harbor North project was not immediately available.
