A man has been charged in a fatal crash in West Hudson Park in January that killed a 58-year-old Kearny man, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello announced.

On Tuesday, members of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested Zaire Ferguson, 27, of Carteret, in connection to the aforementioned incident, Mello said in a statement.
He is charged with death by auto, assault by auto, causing death while driving suspended, and causing serious bodily injury while driving suspended.
He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 8th, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of two pedestrians struck on Woodland Drive in West Hudson Park.
Responding officers located two male victims, who were transported to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries. The driver and striking vehicle remained at the scene.
Gary Gross, 58, of Kearny, was pronounced dead on Thursday, January 15th.
