On May 14th at 8:07 p.m., Secaucus police responded to Walmart, located at 400 Park Plaza Drive, on a report of an individual tampering with the credit card reader in the electronics section, Police Chief Dennis Miller said in a statement.

The man, later identified as Kristofer Tyon, 25, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, was at Walmart using a stolen credit card to purchase an iPhone, which ended up getting stuck in the credit card reader and he was attempted to dislodge it, the chief added in an email.

He falsely identified himself to police and it was also discovered he is wanted out of Pittsburgh (one outstanding warrant)

During the investigation, police arrested Tyon for fraudulent use of a credit card, credit card theft, hindering apprehension by providing false information to the police, and being a fugitive from justice.

He was issued his complaint warrant and was pending transport to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
