In a letter to the editor, Jersey City Heights resident Yusra Razouki makes the argument for why local renters must support Jake Ephros for Ward D city council.

Dear Editor,
Earlier this month, Ward D city council candidate Catherine Healy revealed how she felt about 70% of Jersey City’s residents— “The renter community is dangerous,” she said in an interview on HCV Live & Uncut.
This should be a disqualifying point of view as it reveals a level of contempt for the working class community in Jersey City.
If Healy had done a little bit more to campaign for this seat besides joining the slate of disgraced former governor Jim McGreevey, she would know better than to call the overwhelming majority of Ward D constituents “dangerous.”
I want to see vibrant, safe neighborhoods and a city council member who values all of the community members in our ward.
I want to see a government that cares enough about renters to prioritize strengthening tenant protections and ensuring pathways to homeownership that won’t put people in debt for the rest of their lives.
Catherine Healy, who thinks my neighbors and I are “dangerous” for renting an apartment, won’t be that candidate. Vote Jake Ephros on December 2.
