In a letter to the editor, Bayonne 3rd Ward council candidate John Milan Sebik explains why he’s running and how he’ll advocate for residents if elected.
Dear Bayonne voters,
Make the time to vote if you truly want change in Bayonne.
Bayonne has basically had the same nod yes representatives for the last four elections.
Yes there may be some who voted no a couple times, but the real issue is no matter who the Mayor is, each representative for each ward, and at large should vote for what the majority of their constituents would want.
Can you honestly say that your elected representatives voted in your best interest? Is your quality of life and Bayonne better now or 12 years ago?
Answer these six questions.
1. Do you feel safer in Bayonne?
2. Do you feel that your present and past representatives introduced ideas and brought solid initiatives to the table that changed your life for the better?
3. Do you feel that there is full transparency with the reporting of crimes?
4. Do you feel that the narrative of electing, the entire ticket of representatives makes sense, if you know that they’re all gonna vote yes 90% of the time?
5. Was your last experience calling City Hall or going to City Hall for assistance a good experience?
6. Are you happy with our central shopping district? Why haven’t our local reps and lives paid more attention and provided more incentives for business and property owners on Broadway and created an actual thriving business/restaurant district?
There is no better time than now to make the time to vote for an independent candidate that will take your voice to City Hall.

Let’s put Bayonne back on the map, as a city that’s not known for corruption, machine politics, lawsuits but for a place that we could all be proud to call home, because we all came together and know our voice collectively made a difference.
