President-elect Donald Trump (R) performed roughly 18 points better in Hudson County than he did in 2020, according to an on-air analysis by NBC/MSNBC National News Correspondent Steve Kornacki.
“Hudson County just across the river. This is where Union City NJ is, for instance. It’s 80% Hispanic,” says Kornacki. “this is one of those giant core Democratic counties the Democratic Party relies on. That’s a massive, massive shift. “Take a look at Hudson County: Hudson County, just across the river, this is where Union City, New Jersey is, for instance – it’s 80 percent Hispanic. A lot of small densely populated cities in Hudson County with large, Hispanic populations,” Kornacki explained.
“Joe Biden won here by 46 points, tonight it’s 28 points. This is basically it in Hudson County (95 percent of the vote in). From 46 to 28: This is one of those giant, core counties that New Jersey, the Democratic party, relies on. That’s a massive, massive shift. And again, that speaks to Trump’s gains that we really have seen with Hispanic voters.”
The shift locally was part of a wider trend statewide, as Vice President Kamala Harris only bested Trump by 4.3 points in the typically Democratic stronghold: 2,090,864, or 51.2 percent, compared to 1,914,269, or 46.9 percent, according to the Associated Press.
That is far cry from 2020, when President Joe Biden (D) defeated Trump in the Garden State by about 16 points.
Jersey City mayoral candidate Mussab Ali expressed frustration with this turn of events in a post on X early this morning.
“The HCDO needs to have a serious conversation with itself and ask why so many people in our community voted for Trump tonight,” he wrote.
“In one of the most diverse counties in America this sort of result is outright embarrassing.”
Hudson County GOP Executive Director Pavel Sokolov said the county Democrats couldn’t have done much to stop the red wave across the country since Trump’s message just resonated with the average voter better than Harris’ did.
In my personal view, I don’t feel it’s reflective of the HCDO, we saw the rare time where a candidate was able to speak directly to voters without the need of an organizational machine in Hudson County,” he said over the phone.
“I believe the presidential message resonated with voters on key issues, with the economy being first and foremost. I don’t blame the HCDO, I blame Harris’ message for not being able to connect with what the voters needed and wanted.”
For years and political cycles, Hudson county has heard about the illegalities concerning Brian Stack and Jim McGreevy but nothing gets done and you still wonder why people are starting to change political affiliation? At least you have Fulop voicing concerns and for that he will be rewarded.
Did you see that Trump won Secaucus and Kearny, and some districts in Union City, West New York and North Bergen? Did Brian Stack lose his magic? Yeah, keep on calling us Latinx and other silliness, that’ll work.
Trump made huge gains because people are sick and tired of the pathological lying dems. The Democrats are morons. They turned Trump into a martyr with all these phony prosecutions. Only the most foolish or blind could not see them pulling the strings of every case against Trump, as well as those against Trump allies. It’s clear now that most Americans understood exactly what was going on. And the media, which went all in for the Democratic Party, failed to move the needle. We have much for which to be thankful on this morning after.
Times are a changing.
Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump and Vice President James Vance
You mean to tell me that the operation mocking bird media is confused and embarrassed with the election results? Good. It just shows how the the lies and psyop manipulation tactics are not working.
You two did a MAGAnificent job!
