A Jersey City shooting that claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl is under investigation, with a 37-year-old woman in stable condition after being shot during the same incident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. yesterday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Union Street.
Responding officers located two female victims with apparent gunshot wounds inside of a motor vehicle on Oak Street.
The first victim – later identified as Cianna Lee, 15, of Jersey City – was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 1:20 a.m. this morning.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The second victim – a 37-year-old female relative of Lee – was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where she is being treated for a non-fatal gunshot wound. She is in stable condition.
The HCPO Homicide Unit and the Jersey City PD are actively investigating this matter. No arrests have been made at this time.
