The Jersey City Police Department made three arrests and recovered three guns after a shot fired incident on Danforth Avenue Wednesday evening, an official said.

On October 7th at approximately 9:53 p.m., Jersey City police officers assigned to a post near 192 Danforth Ave. heard shots fired.
While calling in the incident, the officers observed three men fleeing the scene, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.
The JCPD’s Street Crimes Unit located the suspects within minutes and were apprehended by the officers shortly thereafter.
As a result, Shakeem Clarke, 21, Jawon Lesuer, 20, and Quinzelle Venable, 18, were all arrested, with police also recovering three handguns from the scene, Wallace-Scalcione said.
Additionally, a 55-year-old male victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries and refused further medical attention.
Ultimately, all three men were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest, and causing or risking widespread injury/damage.
Furthermore, Clarke faced additional charges for being in possession of both body armor and large capacity ammunition.
