Jersey City man receives 22-year prison sentence for 4 armed robberies in 2022

A Jersey City man received a 22-year prison sentence on Friday for four armed robberies that occurred back in 2022, authorities said.

Naji Thomas, 33, of Jersey City, was convicted at trial on March 2nd of four counts of first-degree armed robbery, four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, and four counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

The defendant was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 11 years in prison, subject to the No Early Release Act. The State was represented in this matter by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors Max Bosco and Priya Angara.

The robberies occurred on February 18th, 2022, February 25th, 2022, March 3rd, 2022, and March 17th, 2022, in Jersey City.

In each incident, Thomas entered a storefront armed with a handgun demanding money from employees. Further, the defendant also stole cellphones during three of the robberies.
