Jersey City man indicted for fatally shooting 26-year-old Bayonne woman

A Jersey City man was indicted by a Hudson County jury for murdering a 26-year-old Bayonne woman earlier this month, authorities said.

On December 4th, a Hudson County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Anthony
Shuler, 28, of Jersey City, charging him with four counts related to the death of Diamond
Robinson that occurred on September 22nd in Bayonne.

Shuler was arraigned on the indictment on Monday, December 16th.

The indictment charges him with murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon, authorities said.

On September 22nd, at approximately 5:10 a.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to 484 John F. Kennedy Boulevard on a report of a potential domestic violence incident.

Upon arrival, Bayonne police officers located Robinson, 26, of Bayonne who was unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at approximately 5:30 a.m. at the scene.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound and the Manner of death to be homicide.

A preliminary investigation was conducted by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Bayonne Police Department and a suspect was identified.

Later that morning, Shuler was arrested by members of the Bayonne Police Department on East 21st Street in Bayonne and he was charged with murder and multiple weapon charges.

He is currently being held pending trial.
