Jersey City Councilman Michael Yun talks municipal taxes, ‘political tricks’

Jersey City Councilman Michael Yun expressed his thoughts on the Jersey City municipal budget, and what he described as budget ‘tricks’ of the Fulop Administration.

Ward D Councilman Michael Yun went on the record with Hudson County View about the Jersey City budget, and what he sees as “good politics” at the expense of property taxpayers.

Yun criticized one of Mayor Fulop’s first acts in office, raising property taxes by nearly 8%, as well as the administration’s management of Jersey City’s budget surplus.

Yun also talked about how we would handle Jersey City’s budget surplus, which currently goes to an emergency spending fund, if he were in charge.

City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill didn’t return an email seeking comment for this story.
