“Sadly, today a dead body was found in Lincoln Park and the matter has been thoroughly investigated by our office as well as the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office,” Sheriff Frank Schillari said in a statement.

“Residents should continue to feel safe in Hudson County parks as this death did not occur under suspicious circumstances. As more information is available, we will let the public know.”

At approximately 2:30 p.m., a dead body was discovered by a jogger in Lincoln Park in Jersey City. The jogger alerted a nearby Hudson County Sheriff’s officer who was on patrol after the discovery was made.

The sheriff’s office is the lead investigative agency for this incident.

Lincoln Park installed seven blue light stations and 11 CCTV stations after the murder of Carolina Cano in 2019.
