The Hudson County Regional SWAT Unit, in coordination with the Union City and the Hoboken Police Departments, arrested and charged Terrence Torres, 19, of Hoboken, for a shooting incident that occurred on Third Street and Bergenline Avenue in Union City on August 26th, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said this afternoon.

Torres was arrested at approximately 6 a.m. this morning after officers with the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant without incident at an apartment on Harrison Street in Hoboken. During the search, officers recovered a firearm.

As a result, he has been charged with attempted murder possession of a weapon (firearm) for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, receiving stolen property, and possession of a defaced firearm.

On August 26th, just before midnight, members of the Union City Police Department

Responding officers found shell casings at the scene as well as two cars that had been struck by bullets. A victim reported to officers that he was shot at while riding a bicycle in the area, but was not injured.
