Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office investigating fatal stabbing of Jersey City man

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the fatal stabbing of a 39-year-old Jersey City man who was killed early this morning, authorities said.

This morning at approximately 2:45 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a possible stabbing victim found in the area of 333 Ocean Ave., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

Upon arrival, responding police officers found a male with an apparent stab wound to his torso.

The victim, later identified as Tyrone Haskins, 39, of Jersey City, was transported by
Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead at approximately 3:20 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The HCPO Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from
the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
