“I am proud that our union is endorsing Mayor Davis and his team today.  Mayor Davis has been a steadfast advocate for working people in Bayonne and an ally to hotel workers in particular,” Hotel and Gaming Trades Council President Rich Maroko said in a statement.

“I have great confidence in this team and I look forward to the mayor’s continued leadership in the years to come.”

While they primarily operate out of New York, the HGTC has gotten involved in Hudson County in recent memory, endorsing Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop last year.

They also opened their first New Jersey office in Montclair last month.

“I would like to thank Rich Maroko and the men and women of the Hotel Trades and Gaming Council for their support,” added Davis.

“Bayonne has always been a union town and we’re proud that our city is home to hard working, blue collar people who know the value of a day’s work. Our team will always fight to make sure Bayonne delivers for working families.”

The non-partisan Bayonne municipal elections are on May 10th.
