Eduardo Contreras-Silva, 49, with no known address, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, a broken beer bottle, Miller said in a statement.

On September 11th at approximately 4:03 a.m., Secaucus police responded to the Royal Motel located at 650 Route 3 West on a report of a possible fight.

Upon their arrival, one man was bleeding from a laceration over his left eyebrow. The injury appeared to have been inflicted by a sharp object, Miller told HCV in an email

Officers made entry into the room and observed  Contereas-Silva with injuries that appeared to have been sustained from a fight, along with blood on his face.

A witness reported to police that Eduardo struck the victim with a beer bottle. Both appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the altercation, the chief added.

Contreras-Silva was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, authorities said.
