“Today, we celebrate the achievements of these HPD officers whose dedication to the safety of our City has been unwavering, and inspiring. I look forward to their continued contributions and growing leadership in these new positions,” Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla said in a statement.

“Watching these officers rise up the ranks, makes me confident of their continued commitment to public safety and their community. All of these promotions are well earned, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for each and every one of them,” added Public Safety Director Kenneth Ferrante.

The 10 officers received their promotions at the DeBaun Performing Arts Center at the college, with the new ranking officers as follows:

Dets. Michael Losurdo, Christine Collins, John Quinones, and Anthony Caruso, as well as Police Officers Harold Milne, Anthony Fesken, and Daniel Grossi all earned the rank of sergeant.

Additionally, Sgts. Christopher LaBruno and Saverio Binetti are now lieutenants, while Lt. David Olivera earned the distinction of captain.

“This ceremony is a celebration of the hard work and leadership of the ten promoted today, and the entire Hoboken police force,” noted Police Chief Steven Aguiar.

“I am proud of all ten of these men and women, and I have no doubt they will all excel in
these new roles, as they continue to serve the City with bravery, integrity, and professionalism.”

15 recently sworn-in officers are currently assigned to field training, while six new hires are currently at the Police Academy to help fill the positions vacated by those promoted today.

Furthermore, the Hoboken Police Department is anticipating hiring another class of officers who will enter the academy early next year.
