Hoboken PD announces ‘unexpected death’ of 17-year veteran of the force

The Hoboken Police Department has announced the “unexpected death” of a 17-year veteran of the force, Frank Francolino, who passed at his home while off-duty.

“It is with profound sadness that HPD announces the unexpected death of PO Frank Francolino who passed away at home while off-duty today,” the department wrote on social media this afternoon.

“We ask all to keep the Francolino family in your thoughts, prayers & hearts. Please respect their privacy as they mourn this unimaginable loss.”

Francolino was sworn in in January 2008 as part of a 14-member class, according to public records.

No additional information was immediately available, but this story will be updated if/when more details are released.

  1. Sympathy to the family and friends of Frank Francolino. We are sorry for another “unexpected death” – yet another sudden loss in the Mile Square City.

    These sudden deaths mount here and across the country and globally in mRNA countries but not Africa. It is time to know the mRNA schedule applied and the full details for all these unexpected, sudden deaths.

    This is very sad and accountability is overdue. RIP Officer Frank Francolino.
