Hoboken 1st Ward Councilman Paul Presinzano is endorsing 3rd Ward Councilman Mike Russo for mayor since he “values collaboration over politics.”

“After speaking with both mayoral candidates and listening to their ideas for Hoboken’s future, I took time to weigh the pros and cons of each vision. Right after the election results came in, Mike reached out to me personally,” Presinzano said in a statement.
“He wanted to talk about how the next administration can reset the tone at City Hall and work with the Council to make Hoboken stronger and more prepared for the future. That conversation made it clear to me that he values collaboration over politics.”
Presinzano also noted that rising taxes and affordability continue to be top concerns for Mile Square City residents.
“Families are feeling the strain. Mike and I both voted against the last two budgets because they pushed taxes higher and made it harder for renters and residents to stay in their homes. We need leadership that focuses on fiscal responsibility and real solutions.”
The downtown councilman also highlighted that he and Russo have a similar passion for public safety and that he’s happy to join two of his colleagues and one candidate in supporting Russo.
“When I walk Hoboken’s sidewalks with my kids, I want to feel safe from commercial e-bikes and other hazards. Mike and I cosponsored legislation to address this issue, even when others worked to undermine it. That showed me he’s willing to stand up for residents and do what’s right,” he continued.
“I’m happy to join Councilman Ruben Ramos, Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, and Liz Urtecho in supporting Mike Russo. It’s a strong signal that Hoboken is ready to move forward together and turn the page on the last eight years.”
Russo is taking on Councilwoman-at-Large Emily Jabbour in the December 2nd runoff and expressed enthusiasm for his latest backer.
“From the minute Paul Presinzano began serving on the City Council, he hit the ground running—asking tough questions, rejecting groupthink, and really looking out for Hoboken’s long-term vision,” he said.
“As we head to the polls on December 2 to decide the future of the City we love, Paul and I know that smart planning and critical thinking are more important than chasing the next photo op. I’m proud to have him on Team Russo, and I’m excited to work with him in the years to come.”

There once was a crooked man
Who had a crooked wife
They had a crooked son
Who now wants to be mayor
I have it on good authority that Ramos, Presinzano, and Fisher made a pinky promise to form a coalition AGAINST Jabbour, who was predicted to win.
These schemers want control of the executive and legislative branches and know how transactional Russo is. Then Fisher went awry. She viciously attacked Russo in an op-ed, cause she thought for sure she’d make the runoff. Ooops. Rather than keeping her dignity intact, she flip flopped to endorse Russo. As a result, her supporters are going to Jabbour. Fun times!
