Hudson County Schools of Technology Board Secretary Joey Muniz has filed a lawsuit over his recent suspension, claiming retaliation and alleging an 18-year affair with Superintendent of Schools Amy Lin-Rodriguez.

“Both Plaintiff and Defendant Lin-Rodriguez were, and are, at all times relevant to the allegations in this Complaint, married to their respective spouses,” the three-count lawsuit, filed in Hudson County Superior Court today, says.
“Nonetheless, in or about November 2006, Plaintiff and Lin-Rodriguez began a fully consensual romantic and sexual extramarital with one another. This relationship continued for nearly eighteen (18) years.”
The court filing, where Muniz is represented Weiner Law Group Managing Partner Mark Tabakin and Partner Stephen J. Edelstein, claims Muniz and Lin-Rodriguez would initially meet for trysts at hotels and eventually took trips together to places such as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Florida, and Atlantic City.
Muniz further claims, through the suit, that she never disclosed their romantic history when she was selected to be superintendent of the district in 2018.
“Beginning in April 2020, Lin-Rodriguez began asking Plaintiff for money, despite the fact that, as Superintendent, her relationship to the Plaintiff made these requests inherently coercive,” the lawsuit alleges, writing checks totaling roughly $42,000 between April 2020 and April 2024, none of which were included on her financial disclosure forms.
According to the suit, Muniz said their romantic relationship ended on April 8th of this year after a big argument where he refused to leave his wife. This allegedly led to a hostile work environment.
Muniz, in the court filing, says that Lin-Rodriguez met with HCST Board President John Minella and Assistant Business Administrator Dominic Pandolfo at a diner in Toms River to plan “discriminatory and retaliatory personal actions against the Plaintiff.”
The lawsuit does not explain what these actions or potential actions were.
The litigation then details November 25th, the day Muniz was suspended. He says he met with Lin-Rodriguez around 9:30 a.m. and a conversation about school business quickly turned ugly, with her allegedly calling him a “f***ing ***hole” and a “mother******.”
She apologized shortly thereafter and they seemed to be civil again, however, she ended up filing a hostile work environment complaint against him before issuing a suspension with pay over “unprofessional, insubordinate, profane, and threatening” behavior.
Muniz then received a Rice notice on November 27th informing him that his employment would be discussed at the December 12th HCST board meeting.
The lawsuit alleges that both the district and the school violated the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD), as well as unjust enrichment for the $42,000 Muniz claims he gave to Lin-Rodriguez over a four-year period.
A HCST spokesman declined to comment since the litigation involves a pending personnel matter.

So this is how you get multiple public sector pay roll jobs in Hudson county?
Well….they did…for 18 years! Shows how the HCST isn’t proving proper oversight and is just a waste of huge County tax dollars. HCST has some of the highest administrator salaries and overall costs in the state.
They learned form the bes. Brian Stack must be proud.
Yes they did and Brian stacks crew
HCST is a Sacco boondoggle and Joey is a Sacco tool – certainly no friend of Sen Stack – so using this to throw shade at Sen. Stack is more than a little disingenuous dontcha think “Arnold?”
There is no love between Brian and Saccos boy wonder. Joey Muniz.
I hope the NJ pension Board looks into this and with hold there pensions. As it looks like alot of trysts were on School Time and School Conferences where they got paid to attend classes and it seems to me they did not attend many classes as they had adjoining rooms.
Oh how I love Hudson County love it
Wait a minute! Joey Muniz is claiming unjust enrichment?!?!?! Hahahahaha! The pot calling the kettle….throw them all away! Specially Muniz! The most corrupt, spineless, specimen of a human being that has enriched his pocket and those of his mistresses with taxpayer money.
I agree with you 💯 Joey was also seeing other married women during this time as well . I heard a story that one of the husband’s went after him and Joey made a Finacial deal with the two of them .
Hudson County is a pool for these types. There is an indicted “bishop” who works for the JC municipal court as a mediator. She anoints her family, i guess so that they don’t pay taxes, like the rest of us surfs do. Her nephew, who is now a “Chaplin” is a convicted felon! You can’t make this shit up.
Woof woof arf grrrrrowl bow wow
Joseph M. Muniz without his Daddy Sacco’s dwindling power is nothing but a uneducated spineless punk who used that little power to bully women. Lin-Rodriguez is one of many. Everyone who he has done wrong should come after him with full vengeance.
Just another Bozo…the taxpayer always losses with them, the reckoning is upon you Jojo
