The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Task Force busted a Lodi man in Union City with 260 grams of cocaine and an illegal handgun yesterday.

On Wednesday, following a three-week long investigation, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force arrested a Bergen County man leading to the seizure of nearly 260 grams of cocaine and an illegal handgun.

At approximately 6 p.m., detectives initiated an investigative stop of George Suarez, 36, of
Lodi, in the area of 29th Street and Summit Avenue in Union City. During the stop, Suarez was found to be in possession of nearly 60 grams of cocaine.

A subsequent search of his residence in Lodi resulted in the seizure of approximately 200 additional grams of cocaine and a .380 caliber handgun.

Suarez been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession of CDS with intent to distribute(cocaine), and possession of CDS with intent to distribute (cocaine), possession of CDS with intent to distribute (Cocaine) within 500 feet of public property, three counts of possession of CDS with intent to distribute
(cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a firearm while committing a narcotics offense, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to
possess a weapon, and possession of CDS with intent to distribute (marijuana).

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the
Secaucus Police Department, the Secaucus Police Department K-9 Unit, and the Lodi Police
Department, with the investigation and arrest.
