UPDATED: HCPO, Jersey City police, investigating woman found dead inside Woodlawn Avenue home

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the circumstances of a woman found dead inside her Woodlawn Avenue home.

“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and JCPD are investigating a deceased female found at 131 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City this afternoon. More info to follow,” the HCPO tweeted at 3:53 p.m.

On Wednesday at 12:09 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez released more information.

Tuesday at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female at 131 Woodlawn Ave.

Responding officers found a lifeless 27-year-old woman, later identified as Diamond Davila, who was pronounced deceased at 3:08 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case and no arrests have been made at this time.
