Jermaine Williams, 28, was arrested — with the assistance from the Jersey City Police Department — and charged with at least two counts of aggravated assault for his alleged attack on a Jersey City woman earlier this month.

On April 7, authorities say Williams sexually assaulted a 37-year-old woman on Warner and Ocean avenues after threatening her with a knife.

The victim was treated at Christ Hospital.

Members of the special victims unit arrested Williams, who initially fled from police, just before 2 p.m. Wednesday on Bidwell Avenue, Suarez said.

He has been sent to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first appearance. The Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion for pretrial detention of the defendant.
