The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the Bayonne woman found dead insider her home, with their homicide unit on the case, Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.
Yesterday, shortly before 1 p.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to 30 Lord Ave. to do a welfare check of a resident. Upon arrival, responding police found an unresponsive female victim with visible trauma, Suarez said in a statement.
The victim, later identified as Crystal Ojeda, 40, of Bayonne, was pronounced dead at approximately 1:55 p.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Bayonne Police Department and no arrests have been made at this time.
