HCPO identifies Bayonne woman found dead inside her home, homicide unit on the case

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the Bayonne woman found dead insider her home, with their homicide unit on the case, Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Yesterday, shortly before 1 p.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to 30 Lord Ave. to do a welfare check of a resident. Upon arrival, responding police found an unresponsive female victim with visible trauma, Suarez said in a statement.

Bayonne police officers had gone to the apartment to do a welfare check, where they found an unresponsive woman, later identified as Crystal Ojeda, with visible trauma.

Ojeda was pronounced dead at approximately 1:55 p.m. and the cause and the manner of her death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Bayonne Police Department are assisting the HCPO in the investigation and no arrests have been made as of this writing.
