“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hoboken Police Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male found deceased in Maxwell Place Park,” HCPO spokeswoman Caitlin Mota told HCV in an email.

“The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.”

The exact same language was used in a message posted on X by the HCPO late this morning.

The City of Hoboken posted on social media at approximately 8:23 a.m. this morning indicating that the park had been closed due to an ongoing police matter, and was reopened at roughly 12:54 p.m.

No additional information was immediately available, but this story will be updated when more details are released.

  1. This is a terrible time for our country. What’s been unleashed with a wave of violence perpetrated and allowed in the BLM Marxist/Antifa actions since 2020 and the illicit illegal alien invasion continues.

    • LOL…Dude, it was a beef between a couple of homeless guys. Got nothing to do with anything you mentioned, don’t be such a snowflake. Unless yr just trolling, and don’t actually believe it either.

      • A multiple stabbing suicide? Yeah, ok. What happens if the Ravi Sanctuary City invasion hits Hoboken next? People are already moaning about e-bike delivery drivers. Imagine 100 times that arrive but come to stay.

  2. Another sign of neglect brought to us by the lazy, race-baiting, political climbing Ravi Bhalla.
He’s the worst we have ever had.
    Insincere, dishonest, lazy….

  3. The city is bursting, and affordable housing stock has not kept pace. We are in the midst of a national mental health crisis. The undocumented immigrant population keeps swelling, so we really have no idea who is walking our streets. Our police, however qualified and committed, are somewhat hamstrung by the politics of it all. Something like this was bound to happen and will likely happen again – unless we confront and fix some of the root causes noted above.
Even more disturbing is the fact that he communication from city hall has been spotty at best and that, too, needs to change. Quickly.

    • Elitists on the City Council and the mayor hate the poor, they have removed so many apartments and converted to 1 family vertical mansions for themselves and their elitist pals
They complain the city is too crowded ( CODE FOR NO MORE POOR PEOPLE)
They have zero money for the Housing Authority, and the only reason they are even considering voting no on the middle class owners saving referendum is because they are afraid to be called racists and classists… BECAUSE THEY ARE
