“Officer Delacruz served in the United States Marine Corp, a Harrison Police Officer, and a devoted mother,” the Harrison PD wrote on Facebook and Instagram.

“She served her country and her community with pride and passion. Her bright smile and contagious laugh will be deeply missed. Rest in the sweetest peace Officer Delacruz and watch over us all 💙”

Delacruz graduated Lincoln High School in Jersey City before receiving her bachelor’s degree from John Jay College in Manhattan.

From there, she became a full-time officer of the Harrison Police Department in 2018, according to public records.

While the Harrison PD did not provide any details on her death, The Daily Voice reports that she passed at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood following a medical procedure.

Valley Health spokeswoman Maureen Curran Kleinman said that Delacruz was treated at Valley after developing complications following a procedure at a different facility and that no other information was immediately available.
