Hudson County Executive Craig Guy is praising Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) for the way she is handling 6,600 non-citizens getting added to the New Jersey voter rolls between June 2023 and June 2024.

“What we saw today is exactly why New Jersey voters came out and elected Mikie Sherrill for governor in a landslide,” Guy, also the chair of the Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) said in a statement.

“The governor identified an issue and immediately began working towards a solution. Governor Sherrill has been a strong, effective partner for Hudson County and her leadership on this issue is just the latest example of her straight forward, no nonsense approach to governing.”

The governor made national headlines earlier today when she announced “that a serious software error” in the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s software led to about 6,600 non-citizens being registered to vote between June 2023 and June 2024.

She added that these individuals selected “no” when asked if they were U.S. citizens, but were registered to vote anyway, with “fewer than 400 individuals” who were registered through this error voting during that one-year time frame, citing a preliminary analysis by her administration.

Expectedly, the former congresswoman took aim at President Donald Trump (R), who is already using this situation to try to garner support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE) America Act, per the New Jersey Globe.

“Let me be clear: Donald Trump has zero credibility on the issue of election integrity,” Sherrill exclaimed.

“For more than 10 years, he has worked to undermine Americans’ faith in our elections by spreading lies about legitimate election results, attempting to overturn a free and fair election, encouraging an attack on our Capitol when he couldn’t accept the will of the voters, and defunding election security at the federal level.”

She also said Tuesday that an independent firm has been hired to figure out how this happened, noting that fixes are already underway.

The bill would require a valid, government-issued ID to vote throughout the country and would also direct states to share their voter rolls with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security responsible for removing non-citizens from the lists.

At the time being, Republicans currently aren’t projected to have enough support to get the legislation out of the Senate, with Democratic support required to reach 60 votes.

“Democrats and their media allies have repeatedly said it is impossible for non-citizens to register to vote, let alone cast a ballot,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told the Globe.

“Time and again, they have been proven wrong. As President Trump has said, there is nothing more important than the integrity of our elections.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday that “ensuring the integrity of our elections is fundamental to preserving trust in American democracy.”

  1. NJ governor Sherrill response is BS on steroids.

No way “glitch” caused it. There are multiple tests and verification of software’s accuracy before it is implemented.

Then, fun part: 400 illegals out of that 6000 actually voted. In NJ, illegals are allowed to have driver licenses no question asked, while citizens have to prove eligibility.

Now, imagine you are illegal who “accidentally” was registered in NJ to vote and you did vote. Can you claim “oopsie”? Since all state voting is combined at local and federal (POTUS) level, there should be mass federal prosecution and deportations for this.

Finally, in NJ you do not need to provide any ID to register directly with 21 county clerks. Just file a form as you please. HCDO operatives happy to assist. Mechanism to verify citizenship (for POTUS part) does not exist at clerk’s level. So why would any one oppose citizenship verification for voting? Why?

        • The Mikie Coverup is strong. Blame the Democrat standard lacking election integrity on a “software glitch.” Utter nonsense!

The company told Mikie “Vanilla Harris” to GFY and said they don’t have any role in putting anyone on the election rolls. That’s Mikie’s Sec. of State Division of Elections that did it.

Hire some Democrats to “investigate” and absolutely do NOTHING for election integrity. That’s the objective. The Feds want to do a cursory review of the voter rolls. NJ has more people on the rolls than voters last I heard.

The Democrat Party Soprano State absolutely wants nothing to do with limiting VBM election fraud, registration fraud and of course general election fraud so Voter ID like in most of the country and the Western world – fuggeabouit.

Hopefully, Mikie can keep the scam going. HudCo loves her!

        • Turns out, “glitch” was a lie. Imagine my shock.

Scherrill admits now that it was flagged and someone overruled and overrode computer settings. Quick: blame the Orange Man?

      • You are correct, until you are not. State sets the rules, right. Supremacy clause still rules, thus state cannot de facto allow illegal alien to vote for the POTUS part (federal).

Founding fathers blunder was to join at hip state and federal elections. We need to separate it.

      • So the Democrat Party can register non-citizens, organize and fund NGOs to fund an invasion into states and have illegal aliens vote against Americans and their rights.

As you say, it’s their “perogative.” Never saw any of this in the constitution, the US Constitution. Maybe you meant the Antifa or Soviet Constitution.

  2. Governor Sherrill is correct to say that Trump has “zero credibility…” on this, and many other issues…. That said, where is Murphy in all this? He alledgedly wouldn’t pick up the phone to speak with Brennan when he was running his first campaign, he pushed his wife into the Senate race over far more qualified candidates and now we find that he essentially concealed this voting issue for two years. Computer glitches happen all over the world – ethical lapses always seem to land in New Jersey…..

  3. Which means it’s “Democratic” Party, Senator, majority, minority, candidate, and so on.

Welcome to the English language, MAGAts!

  4. Getting even more interesting. Sherrill now admits someone overruled vendor. Murphy plays dummy (maybe he is). Who overruled vendor? When? One time wholesale, or one by one?

Sherrill refused to hand over rolls to the Feds, so now it will go via subpoena. I am curious what kind of party affiliation was put on those fake registrations? Who actually decided these specific designations while supposedly “beneficiary” illegals were not aware? Where fake registrations also done directly via county clerks? This scenario would leave paper trail, including names of people who transferred info into computer systems.

With her clumsy coverup, Sherrill proved she is not fit for office. It should be a big deal, regardless of party affiliation. This is core of functioning republic.
