“On December 27th, they were evicted (padlocked) out of their apartment. TRA (Temporary Rental Assistance) was secured for 24 months previously and expired October of 2023 which brought the two-bedroom rent up to full market rate,” Nevin Perkins, of Build More Unity, wrote in the GoFundMe page description.

“With children, and unable to find stable, reliable, and compatible work, the family struggled to meet the new rent costs and were subsequently evicted. They have moved their stationary belongings to a storage unit.”

With the mother of the family, whose identities are being kept anonymous, expecting to give birth in January, they are seeking financial assistance for 90 days.

They are seeking affordable housing in Hudson or Essex Counties, alone with necessities such as diapers, laundry detergent, and food.

Created three days ago, the page has raised $3,444 from 66 donations as of this writing, with an overall goal of $5,000 set.
