“Luis Fernando Cevallos (24) was a very caring person whose life was cut short due to a tragic car accident on August 4th,” the GoFundMe page description says.

“Even though he left this world so soon, he touched the lives of many friends and family members with his positive attitude, caring heart, and charming charisma. He always made sure that those around him were okay and put their needs before his own.”

He is survived by his mother Laura, his father Charles, his sister Angelica, and his brother Carlos.

The page, which was just created this morning, has already raised $9,235 from 165 donors towards their $12,000 goal to cover funeral and memorial costs.

Additionally, the Memorial High School Alumni Association identified Cevallos as a member of the 2016 class and offered their condolences to his friends, family, and acquaintances.

According to North Bergen police, a speeding 2022 gray Kia Stinger slammed into a tractor trailer on Tonnelle Avenue near the Paterson Plank Road overpass.

The tractor trailer was backing into a business to make a delivery when the Kia went underneath it and the car driver and passenger were both declared dead at 2:26 a.m.

Cevallos was identified as the driver, while a 27-year-old woman from Bergenfield was identified as the passenger. The incident remains under investigation, but drugs and alcohol were not believed to have been involved.
