Ward A’s drop box location will be at the Earl A. Morgan Public Library, located at 1841 John F Kennedy Blvd., with St. Peter’s University and Hudson County Plaza hosting drop boxes in Ward B and C, the mayor tweeted this afternoon.
The other locations will be at the North District Police Station, 282 Central Ave., City Hall, and the City Hall Annex in Wards D, E, and F.
Last month, Gov. Phil Murphy (D) announced that the general election would be similar to the July 7th primary and would be contested mostly via vote-by-mail ballots.
As part of this executive order, Murphy called on election officials to install secure drop boxes throughout the state.
Back in June, the state Division of Elections purchased 105 drop boxes that were subsequently delivered to county election offices, New Jersey Globe reported.
Jersey City will feature one of the few special elections across the state this fall, when Ward D Councilman Yousef Saleh, appointed in April, will defend his seat.
